Esma’s Isolation and Her Secret Plan

Following the events that led to Şerif’s arrest, Esma has gone into hiding. She has successfully filed for divorce and testified against Şerif regarding Bali’s murder. Now living in seclusion, she refuses to see anyone, including Adil Koçari, stating that she needs to gather her strength after the recent exhausting battles. Esma confides in Emine that she is preparing for a “new war” right after the Eid holidays. She plans to drop a massive bombshell by revealing the ultimate truth about Eleni’s parentage. Despite knowing that this revelation will enrage Adil Koçari and cause massive chaos, Esma is determined to stop living a lie, especially because she can no longer bear to watch Eleni grow closer to Hicran under false pretenses.

Fadime and İso’s Fake Marriage Dilemma

Meanwhile, Fadime and İso, who entered into a fake marriage solely to end the family feud and ensure Şerif’s imprisonment, are now trying to figure out how to get a divorce. They humorously brainstorm fake reasons to present to the judge, such as inventing a cheating scandal involving a fictional trip to Batumi. However, the conversation takes a serious and emotional turn. Fadime explains the painful reality of why they can never truly be together: she cannot bear the thought of having a child carrying the blood of the people who killed her father. This dark history is highlighted by the fact that İso’s phone passcode is the exact date his father killed Fadime’s father. Recognizing the heavy burden of their families’ past, they agree to just try being friends.

Oruç’s Honest Proposal and Hicran’s Arrest

Eleni is left deeply worried after learning that Hicran has been arrested by the police for perjury (giving false testimony regarding Bali). On another front, Zarife (Oruç’s mother) is scheming to keep Eleni tied to their family. She sends Oruç to Eleni with traditional rice pudding (Sütlaç) as a customary gesture of courtship. When Oruç arrives, he bluntly and honestly confesses to Eleni that his mother wants them to marry for purely strategic reasons: to secure Eleni’s company shares and to use her as a shield against Adil Koçari’s impending wrath. Eleni is amused and appreciates Oruç’s refreshing honesty, calling it the best proposal she has ever received. Nevertheless, she turns him down, citing the toxicity of his family, but happily agrees to remain close friends.

Ramadan Preparations and Looming Sabotage

The episode heavily features the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan. The characters are shown waking up for Suhoor, accompanied by traditional Ramadan drummers arriving at Adil’s house—leading to some lighthearted comedic moments as they demand their money. Adil Koçari plans to set up a grand Iftar tent to assert his family’s prestige over the Fırtına family, though he secretly misses Esma and worries about her having Suhoor all alone. However, the peaceful atmosphere of Ramadan is threatened by a sinister plot in the background. Angered by İso’s growing influence and the new pickup truck he bought, members of the Koçari family hire a mechanic named Rasho to secretly sabotage the truck’s brakes. The episode ends building tension around this impending “accident” and the ticking time bomb of Esma’s secret.

Zarife’s Selfish Scheme

The dynamic between Oruç and Eleni in this episode is driven by Oruç’s mother, Zarife. She desperately wants to tie Eleni to their family for two highly selfish and strategic reasons: to secure Eleni’s shares in the company, and to use Eleni as a “human shield” against Adil Koçari’s inevitable wrath once a massive family secret is exposed. Zarife pushes Oruç to court Eleni, suggesting he take her out for traditional rice pudding (Sütlaç). Oruç initially resists, disgusted by the idea of trapping the girl for financial and survival reasons, but he eventually caves in under his mother’s pressure and fear of Adil’s revenge.

The Brutally Honest Proposal

When the time comes to woo Eleni over the rice pudding, Oruç decides he cannot go through with the manipulation. Instead of feeding her romantic lies, he drops the facade and bluntly confesses his mother’s entire wicked plan. He tells Eleni the absolute truth: his family wants to marry her to steal her shares and use her to survive Adil’s anger. He then sarcastically wraps this up as his formal marriage proposal, asking if she would like to marry him under these terrible conditions.

Rejection and a New Friendship

Eleni is highly amused and pleasantly surprised by Oruç’s refreshing honesty. She jokingly calls it the “most beautiful marriage proposal” she has ever received. However, she politely but firmly rejects the offer, stating clearly that his family is far too toxic and bad for her to ever consider joining. Oruç completely agrees with her assessment and respects her decision without any argument. Finding common ground in his brutal honesty, Eleni suggests that they skip the fake romance and try being genuine friends instead, to which Oruç happily agrees.

The Vehicle Switch

The setup for this scene actually begins a little earlier when Eleni and Fadime are on their way to secretly visit Esma in her hiding place. While driving, they realize they are being followed by İso (Fadime’s husband). When İso pulls them over, it turns out he is just being an overly worried and protective husband. Because the roads are rough, he insists that their current car isn’t safe enough for the journey. Out of love and concern, he forces them to take his brand-new red pickup truck instead.

The Hidden Sabotage

What neither İso nor the two women know is that the red pickup truck is a death trap. Earlier in the episode, members of the Koçari family—furious at İso’s growing independence and the fact that he bought the truck himself—hired a mechanic named Rasho to secretly sabotage it. Rasho rigged the truck’s brake lines so that they would fail gradually, making it look like a natural accident. The sabotage was meant for İso, but ironically, his attempt to keep his wife safe put her directly in harm’s way.

The Cliffhanger

In the final moments of the scene, Eleni and Fadime are driving in the sabotaged truck, listening to music, and having a good time. Suddenly, the mood drops when Fadime realizes the pedals aren’t working. She urgently asks Eleni to turn off the music. Panic begins to set in as Fadime confirms that the brakes have completely failed, despite it being a brand-new vehicle. As the truck hurtles down the road out of control, Fadime desperately tries to keep her composure, telling a terrified Eleni not to be afraid and to “hold on tight.” The episode ends on a major cliffhanger, leaving the fate of both women hanging in the balance as they brace for an inevitable crash.
